Campuscakes.com Shipping and Returns Policy:

Campuscakes.com is committed to making the shipping process as efficient and as transparent as possible.  Everything offered on our site can be shipped in one of three ways - Standard Ground Shipping ($14.95/item), 2nd Day ($34.95/item), Next Day ($54.95/item) or Saturday Delivery ($74.95/item).  With ground shipping, a delivery generally arrives in 2 to 4 days - however it can in some instances take up until 10 days.  With 2nd Day and Next Day shipping - we can be more certain of a delivery time.  Our care packages are shipped via UPS and our cakes are shipped via Fedex in insulated containers refrigerated with adequate amounts of dry ice for a respective distance.  

Shipping Tips: 

Schedule packages to arrive early. It is nice to receive a surprise on your birthday or on the exact date of a holiday, however most people would rather receive a package a day early than a day late.  Scheduling a package to arrive early allows for the unknown such as unexpected delays in transit, failed delivery because the recipient was not home, etc.   

Check the UPS and Fedex information below before choosing your shipping method. When in doubt (before or after you've placed your order) contact liz@campuscakes.com.  

Shipping to college students: Many colleges have a mailroom that receives student packages.  These mailrooms receive the package on the day you indicate you want the package to be delivered. Often the student is notified that they have a package waiting THE NEXT DAY. The student may not pick up the package until 2 DAYS AFTER it was delivered (or more).  Schedule your package to arrive early. Although it's not required, it's not a bad idea to notify the student that a package is coming their way so that they can look out for a slip or email from the mailroom or inquire with the mailroom if they have not received the package.  This will not spoil their surprise, but rather help to build excitement and anticipation of something coming their way. Oh yeah...and it will help to ensure that they actually receive the package.

Campus addresses: Check with Housing, Residence Life, or Student Affairs to make sure your shipping address is formatted correctly. Sometimes a dorm name and number is required (we cannot obtain this for you), other times a campus box number.  In almost all cases, we must have a physical street address in order to ship via UPS.  Campus Box Numbers do not always work in the same way regular PO Boxes work. In most cases packages may be delivered to a campus box number via UPS if a street address is included in the shipping address.


FOR CARE PACKAGES:

In the event a carrier returns a gift due to being refused, a bad address being supplied, or non-availability of a recipient all shipping charges assessed by the carrier will be added to the buyer’s bill along with a 20% restocking fee. Please verify your shipping address and be sure to include apartment numbers or building names where appropriate. Shipping charges usually consist of shipping to the recipient, shipping back to the warehouse, and any address correction fees.

Campuscakes.com will ship all 2nd day air and Next Day air orders received the next business day.  All ground orders will ship within 48-72 business hours (Business hours do not include weekends and or holidays). 

Campuscakes.com General Customer Service Policy: Campuscakes.com will make every effort to ship each and every order within the shipping deadlines to complete customer satisfaction.  Campuscakes.com will replace or refund the value of any gift not meeting the customer's satisfaction, deemed damaged or defective.  Refunds or replacements are only offered if the original gift can be retrieved for inspection (assuming the claim is made within the 3 day grace period).  Campuscakes.com guarantees all gifts shipped will have the general look and product assortment as the photos used to represent them.  Substitutions are allowed as long as the value is equal or greater the substituted product. We will do our best to substitute within the same "family" of products at all times.

Shipping options: You will be given an opportunity at checkout to choose from a variety of UPS services.  Actual shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of the items you are shipping, the service you are using, and the location to which you are shipping.  

Rush orders: You must select the appropriate shipping method for your package to arrive on time.  Please refer to the UPS information below. Be sure to calculate business days only (M-F) when calculating when your package will arrive.  If you are unsure of when your package will ship out or arrive please contact us for assistance at liz@campuscakes.com.


UPS EXPEDITED SERVICES (Care Packages only):

UPS Next Day Air®: Next business day delivery by 10:30 AM, 12 PM, or end of day, depending on destination. Example: if your order ships out on Thursday it will be delivered on Friday by 10:30 AM to most areas.

UPS 2nd Day Air®: Delivery by the end of the second business day. Example: if your order ships out on Thursday it will be delivered by the end of the day on Monday.

UPS GROUND SERVICES:

Delivery Monday-Friday to residential and commercial US addresses. Please use business days (M-F) only when calculating delivery date. Delivery is by the end of the business day.

Packages are shipped via UPS . You will receive email notification by one of these companies with your package tracking information.  In the unlikely event that a package is lost, the customer is not available to receive the package, or the package is refused, UPS will send an email notification to you.


FOR CAKES:

Campuscakes.com ships frozen cakes in insulated containers kept cold by dry ice.  Safe arrival is guaranteed.

Standard shipping is via FedEx ground. Next day, Second Day, and Saturday delivery is available in most areas at additional cost.

Orders received are usually shipped the next business day (see the special note regarding West Coast shipments).  Business days include Monday through Friday.  Depending on the destination, we ship Monday through Thursday, providing that the order will not be in transit over the weekend.  If the transit time will span a weekend, we ship the following business day (usually Monday).  Scheduled deliveries on Saturdays are restricted to orders with the Saturday additional charge option selected.  Deliveries on Mondays are restricted to Next Day optional additional cost upgrades shipped on Friday.

Arrival time for Standard orders is 1-10 days, depending on destination and when the order has been received.  We cannot accommodate requests for specific delivery dates unless the Second Day, Next Day Air or Saturday upgrade option is specified at checkout, and the additional charges accepted.

Our couriers are very reliable; however, our delivery responsibility is limited to consigning the shipment to the courier in accordance with the above stated policies.  The carrier may, at their discretion, leave the package at the doorstep unless you request us not to.  The carrier's statement that the package has been left at the door constitutes proper delivery.  In certain situations where the carrier considers the location to be a security risk, the package may not be left at the door.  We disclaim responsibility for delivery delays caused by weather, or other factors not under our control.

Please check your order carefully. We cannot be held responsible for delivery delays or failures due to address errors.

West Coast Shipments

Orders for delivery in AZ, CA, ID, NV, OR, UT and WA require 4 transit business days. In order to prevent transit over weekends, standard delivery is restricted to Mondays. We recommend Second Day or Next Day additional cost shipment upgrades for those areas. 

All our products may be kept frozen for six months at 20°F, or up to one year at 0°F and may be thawed and re-frozen. Most products may be kept refrigerated for 10 days.
